St. Patrick's Day Fun!

We had a great time thinking about the many ways we could catch a leprechaun on St. Patrick's Day! The students brainstormed ideas about what materials they could use for creating their trap with our 5th grade STEAM buddies. Then they had to problem solve, and possibly redesign their traps, if those materials were not available. They were all very creative! We even left a some in the classroom to see if we could get lucky enough to catch one over the weekend.

SeeSaw Learning

We have been exploring the SeeSaw app on the iPads to share about what we are learning in Reading, Math and Science. It has been so much fun!

We have started learning about different nonfiction text features and how they help us to understand what we are reading!

Today we went to see students from the middle school perform a play called "The Wicked Witch on Trial". It was very funny and we got to decide whether the witch was innocent or guilty!

We also had a friend come to visit the class who moved away in December!

It was a great day in 2nd Grade :)

Second Graders have been focused on thinking about what resolutions are, and figuring out what they resolve to do for the New Year 2017! One thing that we can all agree on is that resolutions, no matter how big or small, require some work. We spent all of last week working hard on writing resolutions as well as creating a fun "craftivitiy" to display our thinking around this topic. Take a peek at what we were able to accomplish!
